In order to avoid a ghostly figure in the road, high school senior Brent Mitchell wraps his car around a tree, killing his father. Constantly confronted by his mother’s emotional collapse after the accident, Brent escapes into a marijuana fueled world of loud metal music to block the pain and guilt. Dejected and out of sorts, he has a shot at happiness with his girlfriend Holly, a grounded, caring girl with drop dead good looks, a dream date for the high school prom. But his plans are thwarted by a disturbing series of events that take place under a mirrored disco ball, involving pink satin, glitter, syringes, nails, power drills and a secret admirer. Brent has become the prom king at a macabre, sadistic event where he is the entertainment.

Film Review

I'm sitting squarely on the fence on this one! I can't decide if it was gratuitous gore or a great indie horror. It kind of reminded me of the old school horrors I used to watch as a kid in the 80s so there was a comforting familiarity there but, for me, there was just a real feeling that everyone was trying so hard to be "un-mainstream" (apologies for making up my own words) that it just got weird.I have to write more…reviews need to be a minimum of 10 lines…um…oh, the side story with the friend & the goth chick is amusing & reminds me of my own high school dance experiences, to a point…what else…??? Oh, Lola has cute shoes in the dance scene. I'm googling them in another tab as we speak!

I was browsing for movies to watch when I came across this one. It had actually pretty high ratings for a horror movie exspecilly one with this kind of subject matter so I decided to give it a watch. I was pretty disappointed its not the worst movie out there the acting is nothing special but fair from most of the cast and the story is nothing new. This movie is about a young teenage girl who obsesses over boys then kidnaps them so she and her father can torture them. The story line is really nothing new and this movie takes an awful long time to get going. I am a really big horror fan but this one disappointed. It was too slow to finally get to anything happening and when stuff did happen it was all over too quick. No character development not much of a plot the only reason I give this a five was because it did have some entertaining blood and gore. Watch this and your own risk viewers.

Nudity: 5 out of 10 (brief breast shots with a high reward to time-on-screen ratio) Gore: 6.5 out of 10 (some graphic scenes that would be spoilerish to mention; many of the most effective scenes involving violence are implied) – Overwhelmed by guilt, down-on-his-luck Brent (Xavier Samuel) is having a hard time finding something worth living for.Numb to the world, oblivious to pain, Brent plans on attending the prom with his girlfriend, Holly (Victoria Thaine). His friend Jamie (Richard Wilson), meanwhile, is the beneficiary of a great deal of luck, as the sexy Mia (Jessica McNamee) surprisingly agrees to go to the prom with him. Finally, third-wheel Lola (Robin McLeavy) decides to make her own luck after Brent turns her down as a prom date.Come hell or high water, Lola (with help from her "Daddy", played very well by John Brumpton) takes measures to ensure that Brent will be spending prom night with her, not Holly. What exactly do Lola and Daddy have in store for Brent? – If n…
